I started my own record company in late 2009…It was a vehicle for me to put out music I was associated with as an artist…I wanted to release music from my days with Ordinary Language…Kissed By The Sun and Sea Creatures…Then a funny thing happened on the way to the future…I started to Produce records for other artists…Cuban Legends…Pat DeLeon…Neolythyc and my latest…Cannibal Kids!…This indie alternative bedroom pop band took me to places I hadn’t been to…You can listen to the results here…

Donald “Kutt” Laino is originally from New York…Growing up Kutt’s parents listened to classic rock at home but Hip Hop caught his ear in the late 80’s…In the mid 90’s Kutt started experimenting with recording friends on 4 track tape machines…Kutt moved to Florida in 1998 and from that point on he has appreciated the concept of mixing and relying on his ears to make a record sound good…Working mostly in Los Angeles and Miami, Kutt has engineered in the best studios in the business including the Hit Factory/ Criteria Recording Studios…Audio Vision Recording Studios…Circle House Recording Studios…Power Station Recording Studios…Audio Palace Recording Studios…to name a few…

1) This is an organization created by an Artist…Every Artist wants to be treated fairly and with respect…Shaemax Records has evolved as an organization created by an Artist for Artists…
Commandment #1: All Artists on Shaemax Records will be treated with respect and will never be taken advantage of…

2) Working hard isn’t for everybody…not everybody works for Shaemax Records…
Commandment #2: All Artists and employees will be expected to work hard…

3) Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll…You better know how to handle your intake…
Commandment #3: Never let Sex and Drugs get in the way of Rock and Roll!!!…Rock and Roll comes first…Always!!!

4) Commitment…There are 100,000 good bands in the world…good isn’t good enough…strive to be a great band/artist…
Commandment #4: Commit to the next level…

5) It’s good to have ego in this business…
Commandment #5: Be as good as you think you are…

6) Open Door Policy…Speak your mind…when you hold back you do a disservice to the label and yourself…Get it off your chest…Communicate…
Commandment #6: Be forthright…communicate…be honest…discuss…make a solution…move forward…

7) Not every decision is going to go your way…that’s life…The world is not a perfect fit…sometimes we have to make alterations…Be prepared to win some and lose some…
Commandment #7: When you lose one be cool and when you win one don’t be uncool…

8) Put yourself in winning situations…If you think you are in the wrong place it’s a good bet you probably are…
Commandment #8: Make your own luck by putting yourself into good situations…

9) Don’t make messes for other people and expect them to clean it up for you…It’s an old addage but nevertheless true…Treat people as you want to be treated…
