Who Are We:
Born from the vibrant heart of South Florida, Cannibal Kids are an indie-pop band known for their infectious melodies, dynamic performances, and a sound that blends tropical-pop, surf rock, and jazz fusion. Formed in 2015 in Homestead, Florida, the band comprises Damian Gutierrez (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Luke Faulkingham (Drums), Marty Quinn (Bass), Bennett Wyler (Lead Guitar), and Eli Feingold (Keys, Trombone).
Our Journey:
Cannibal Kids began as a surf rock project, drawing inspiration from ’60s sounds and evolving into a unique blend of genres. Their debut album, Bloom (2017), introduced listeners to their coastal indie vibes, featuring tracks like “Troubled Mind,” “Graphing,” and “Outro (I Will Always Love You),” which showcased their ability to fuse upbeat rhythms with introspective lyrics. In 2020, they released deadheads, an album that marked a departure from their previous sound, embracing a more polished and emotionally resonant style. Singles like “Voicemail” and “I Keep My Eyes Closed” highlighted their growth as songwriters and producers. Their 2023 single “Worms” delved into themes of unrequited love, combining dreamy melodies with groovy beats, and was accompanied by a visually captivating music video. In 2024, Cannibal Kids released “Sinister & Principle” and “Chiral,” singles that generated excitement for their forthcoming concept album, Chiral, which was released January 17, 2025. This ambitious project features a double-sided theme: one side delving into rock music, the other exploring jazz fusion, showcasing the band’s versatility and creative evolution.
